You do not have to wait for a business to post a classified ad to apply for a job. Talk to friends and people you know about places they may know is hiring. Go ahead and make up a wish lists of places you would like to work that is within your job skills. Then make up a resume and cover letter to apply specifically to those companies.
Simply go the places you prepared a resume for and talk with their front desk secretary. Ask about job openings and how the best way to apply is. While talking to the secretary you may just end up talking to the boss about open administrative jobs.
